Version 1.2.2 |
Cribbage is so old it has hair growing out of its ears. Quirky vocabulary and a unique scoreboard just add to its charms.
Each player is dealt six cards. Two go into the “crib,” a separate hand for the dealer to play later. Then the two players alternate laying down cards, trying to make special combinations such as pairs, runs, and “fifteens,” for which they get points.
At the end of the hand, the players count up the combinations in their own hands to get more points. Then the dealer does the same with his crib. The first player to reach 121 wins.
Each addition to a player’s score moves his pin on the scoreboard. There are traditionally two pins per player, one to show his last score and one to show his current score.
It’s weird. It’s old. It’s a lot of fun!
